The Women’s Business Development Council is opening a new round of funding for women-owned businesses looking for capital for growth projects.

WBDC’s Ignite Grant Program offers funding up to $10,000 to Connecticut women-owned businesses that have been in business for at least two years and have revenues between $25K and $2 million.

Formerly known as the equity match grant, the program has distributed more than $3.3 million through 365 grants since its inception.

From helping a book publisher revamp her company’s marketing to allowing a florist to purchase a new computer, camera, and flower cooler, the program provided women access to funds and business support.

“The grant has been instrumental in the development of my business,” one small business owner said.

“Even though the grant was focused on one specific project, the support from WBDC went far beyond that.”

WBDC staff will host informational webinars over the next two months to assist prospective applicants.

Applications are open Feb. 3 through March 10.
