New data from OSHA reveals Connecticut employers recorded more injuries, but less time away from work in 2023.

OSHA collected the 2023 illness and injury data under the agency’s new workplace tracking regulation

The 2023 injury and illness data is based on more than 370,000 establishments across the country. It also includes individual injuries and illnesses for employers with 100 or more employees in select high-hazard industries.

While employers reported three fatalities in Connecticut in 2023, down from eight in 2022, workplace injuries overall in the state increased by 17% over 2022.

Connecticut employers recorded 7,125 injuries in 2023, resulting in over 33,000 days away from work.

The average days away from work (65) is down from 2022, but still above the national average of 48 days.
