Legislative Action Stays Busy
Even though the General Assembly was out of session this summer, a lot of legislative activity continued—and much of it focused on boosting Connecticut’s competitiveness.
During the summer and now into the fall, several commissions, councils and task forces have been at work tackling specific issues and the big picture of making this state more competitive.
In this issue we provide updates on many of these groups whose work could have an impact on Connecticut’s job creators and the state’s economy.
These include:
- Commission on Connecticut’s Competitiveness
- State Tax Study Panel
- Commission on Connecticut’s Leadership in Corporation and Business Law
- Retirement Security Advisory Board
And on the regulatory side, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Connecticut has enormous economic potential, but also challenges that are impeding our ability to maximize that potential.
We will continue to provide updates on these groups as many work toward making legislative proposals for the 2016 session.
