North American Spring Tool, Spring Manufacturers Supply Merge

Berlin-based North American Spring Tool announced Aug. 30 that it merged with Spring Manufacturers Supply Company out of Southington.

The new company is named Spring Tool Solutions. 

“North American Spring Tool and Spring Manufacturers Supply Company have each served spring manufacturers for more than 40 years,” said STS CEO Alan Ortner.

The new company’s headquarters will be in Berlin at the former North American Spring Tool facility.

Both companies provide steel and carbide tooling for the spring industry and Ortner said they complement each other in several ways.

“This merger is going to significantly benefit the collective customers we serve,” he said. 

“Combining our assets and expertise will provide them with a single, comprehensive spring tooling resource. 

Both companies were members of the New England Spring & Metal Stamping Association and the Spring Manufacturers Institute. 

Spring Tool Solutions will continue as a member of both associations and continue to support and participate in their activities.
