The state’s largest business organization today launched a new statewide campaign aimed at helping voters better understand where candidates stand on the issues shaping Connecticut’s economic future ahead of this fall’s elections.

CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima said the Who’s Working for You? campaign gives Connecticut residents tools and resources to help them have informed conversations with candidates before heading to the polls.

Those resources include CBIA’s 2026 legislative scorecards, which illustrate how lawmakers voted on this year’s most consequential affordability and economic growth policy decisions.

“Connecticut stands at an economic crossroads,” DiPentima said.

“Affordability is the defining issue of this election and the choices we make over the next year will determine where businesses invest and whether families can build a future here.”

DiPentima noted that while Connecticut workers and businesses continue to produce strong results, growing costs are putting increasing pressure on families and employers.

Productivity is up 3%, output is up 2%, and Connecticut exported a record $17.8 billion in goods last year.

At the same time, Connecticut ranks 46th in the nation for affordability and posted the largest increase in its unemployment rate of any state over the past 12 months.

“Connecticut businesses have demonstrated that they can adapt, compete, and grow in times of extraordinary uncertainty,” DiPentima said.

“But neither employers nor working families can absorb rising costs indefinitely.

“The costs of housing, healthcare, energy, and childcare are making it harder to build a career, grow a business, and raise a family in Connecticut.”

“The choices we make over the next year will determine where businesses invest and whether families can build a future here.”

The campaign will play out across digital media, highway billboards, and other platforms throughout the fall.

With voters set to elect a governor, all statewide officers, and every seat in the General Assembly, DiPentima said informed engagement is critical to the state’s future.

“This election will shape Connecticut’s economic future for years to come,” he said.

“Our challenges are solvable, and Connecticut has solved hard problems before—by working together, setting clear priorities, and demanding accountability.”

“Now we need policy solutions that match that resilience and ambition.”
