More than 30 of the state’s leading manufacturers and manufacturing associations will showcase products and services at this year’s Manufacturing Innovation Day.
Hear how state manufacturers, faced with the challenges of finding candidates with the skills they need, are taking the traditional route when hiring and training employees as well as finding their own creative solutions.
A wide array of products will be on display including new technologies that are reshaping how things are made in the medical, defense, consumer goods, and aerospace industries.
Manufacturing Innovation Day begins at 8:30 am in room 310 with a speaking program.
House Speaker Joe Aresimowicz, House Republican Leader Themis Klarides, Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, Deputy Senate Republican President Pro Tempore Kevin Witkos, and co-chairs of the legislative Manufacturing Caucus will share what the legislature is doing this session to help manufacturing.
Also, learn the results of the 2017 Survey of Connecticut Manufacturing Workforce Needs and hear two manufacturers and their employees discuss successful recruiting and training efforts.
The exhibits open at 11 am and run through 2 pm.
