Carmody Torrance Merges with Waller Smith & Palmer

New Haven-based Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP has merged with New London law firm Waller Smith & Palmer P.C.
The firms announced the merger in a Sept. 2 statement, with the new firm continuing to operate under the name Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP.
The merger expands Carmody’s Connecticut footprint to include the WSP office location in New London, adding three partners, two counsel, and seven staff and increases the total number of employees to 95 lawyers and 75 staff.
Founded in 1885, WSP has long focused on providing legal services in estate and probate law, municipal law, land use, personal injury, and litigation.
“We are incredibly pleased to welcome the lawyers of Waller Smith & Palmer to Carmody,” said Carmody managing partner Rick Street.
“As one of Connecticut’s oldest firms, WSP has a rich history providing legal services to clients throughout New London and southeastern Connecticut.
“Their collaborative, client-focused culture makes its lawyers a great fit with Carmody and together we will continue to deliver exceptional client service and successful results to clients.”
WSP partner Tracy Collins said the merger “will allow us to continue providing the same high-quality legal services to our clients that they have come to expect from us, with the added benefit of the talent and resources of Carmody.”
