Connecticut Main Street Center Showcases Windsor
Business leaders and community partners gathered in Windsor’s center Sept. 15 to showcase the town’s offerings.
The event was part of Connecticut Main Street Center’s quest to highlight downtowns across the state.
Windsor’s green is active year-round with a number of events.
The town also touts its history, with two dozen buildings facing the town green that are home to institutional and commercial uses.
Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
As part of the September event, attendees toured the area and stopped at local businesses.
Connecticut Main Street Center executive director Michelle McCabe [pictured above] said Windsor is focused on building an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As part of the tour, the new co-working space Windsor Worx opened its doors to the public.
The former manufacturing facility was transformed into a space where entrepreneurs can work in a modern environment. The building officially opens Sept. 20.
The co-working space is one of the many initiatives area leaders have taken to attract both businesses and residents.
Due to Windsor’s presence on the Amtrak and Hartford lines, transit-oriented development is happening.
The town also recently approved two mixed-use projects that will bring more than 350 new housing units.
