How Tax Policy Can Grow State’s Economy, Revenues

Issues & Policies

For years, one of the most effective tools Connecticut policymakers have used to increase jobs and grow our economy is strategic tax policy.

And in a win-win scenario, the state has gained from the boost in tax revenues that positive tax policy has generated.

“Tax Credits Deliver Economic Growth,” is a special 90-minute presentation on Wednesday, January 30, at 10 am in the Legislative Office Building. Representatives of several leading Connecticut businesses will address:

  • The role that tax credits play in businesses' site selections, product line development, and Connecticut's overall economic growth
  • Specific business activity now being done here in Connecticut directly as a result of positive tax policy–things that might not otherwise have been placed here
  • Why tax credits are indispensable revenue enhancers for the state.

Businesses will share success stories happening today, as well as important details on how specific tax credits have helped win investment in the state that might have gone elsewhere.

It’s obvious that there are no easy solutions to the state’s fiscal challenges, but an expanding economy will make the task easier.

The presentation is open to state policymakers and staff. For more information or to RSVP, contact CBIA’s Bonnie Stewart at 860.244.1925 or bonnie.stewart@cbia.com.
