CBIA Membership Elects New Board Directors

The membership of CBIA, the state’s largest business organization, has elected seven new directors and reelected five current directors to its board. 

The group of business leaders represents a wide range of industries from companies across Connecticut.

“CBIA’s board of directors is the foundation for everything we do as an organization,” said CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima.

“This slate of new and returning members brings a wealth of experience and expertise representing diverse industries, backgrounds, and perspectives.

“Their passion and commitment for our state will help us accomplish great things in the year ahead as we work to strengthen policy solutions drive job growth and Connecticut’s economy.”

The new directors are:

  • Carolina Cavalcante, President, Tilcon Connecticut, a CRH Company (New Britain)
  • Denis Horrigan, Partner and Co-Founder, Connecticut Wealth Management (Farmington)
  • Matt Hummel, Market President & Commercial Banking Executive, KeyBank (Hartford)
  • Alexandrea Isaac, Assistant General Counsel, FuelCell Energy (Danbury)
  • Rick Street, Managing Partner, Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey (New Haven)
  • Richard Tavolieri, Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche (Hartford)
  • Marissa Weidner, Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, Webster Bank (Stamford)
Directors reelected to a second term: Leander Dolphin, Dave Fiereck, Jill Mayer, Frank Reynolds, and Ben Towne.

The five directors reelected to a second term are:

  • Leander Dolphin, Managing Partner, Shipman & Goodwin (Hartford)
  • Dave Fiereck, President, Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. (Plainville)
  • Jill Mayer, CEO, Bead Industries (Milford)
  • Frank Reynolds, President and CEO, UIL Holdings (Orange)
  • Ben Towne, Partner, PwC (Hartford)

The election results were announced at CBIA’s annual meeting in Hartford on Nov. 12.

The new directors begin serving their four-year terms Dec. 1.  

The board will elect a new chair to succeed The Lee Company president and CEO Marietta Lee at its Dec. 3 meeting. 

Lee will remain on the board as the immediate past chair.
