Boehringer Partners on Connecticut Science Center STEM Lab

The Connecticut Science Center is home to exhibits, programs, and experiences designed to spark interest in science, discovery, and STEM education.
Now, the Science Center will also be home to a new Innovation Lab, presented by Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc.
The lab is a dedicated learning center designed to expand STEM education opportunities for students and families statewide.
“Investing in STEM education means investing in the future generation of innovators, creators, and scientists,” said Boehringer Ingelheim USA president and CEO Jean‑Michel Boers.
STEM Pathways
The Innovation Lab features curriculum focused on career pathways in human health, biology, and pharmaceutical sciences.
It will offer hands-on learning experiences, interactive workshops, and career-focused programming.
The lab is designed to help young people understand how scientific discovery translates into medicines that transform patient lives.
“We’re creating more opportunities for students to explore the science behind medicines.”

It will also connect classroom science to real-world career applications.
“Through the Innovation Lab, we’re creating more opportunities for students to explore the science behind medicines and see how discoveries in the lab lead to impactful outcomes for patients and communities,” said Connecticut Science Center president and CEO Matt Fleury.
The Science Center and Boehringer held a ribbon-cutting ceremony during a March 27 STEM career event.
The event drew more than 500 middle and high school students, educators, local and state officials, and industry professionals, highlighting STEM career pathways and workforce opportunities in Connecticut.
Hands-on Learning
“By expanding access and creating hands‑on learning experiences with local educators and industry partners, we are opening pathways for students and helping them see how science can make a meaningful, real‑world impact,” said Boers.
“This will expand access to STEM learning and help inspire young people across Connecticut to imagine themselves shaping the future of science,” added Fleury.
“We remain committed to strengthening the state’s STEM ecosystem.”
