Carmody Torrance Merges with Guilford Firm
Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP announced April 24 that it is merging with Guilford-based litigation and trial firm Donahue, Durham & Noonan P.C.
The new firm will operate under the name Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP, and will add DDN’s office to Carmody’s five locations in New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury, Southbury, and Litchfield.
DDN focuses on healthcare law, medical malpractice defense, pharmaceutical litigation, general commercial litigation, employment litigation, education law—including Title IX cases—and personal injury law.
Carmody practices in nearly 30 areas, providing services to the education, energy and infrastructure, cannabis, financial, healthcare, manufacturing, and alcohol and beverage industries.
Carmody managing partner Rick Street said the merger “greatly strengthens our litigation capabilities and expands our geographic presence.”
Combining Strengths
“It is DDN’s collaborative, client-focused culture that makes its lawyers and staff such a good fit with Carmody and we know together we can continue to deliver exceptional client service and successful results to our clients,” he said.
DDN’s four partners, four associates, and eight other staff will join Carmody, bringing the firm’s total staff to 83 attorneys and 70 additional employees.
“DDN is excited to be joining forces with Carmody,” said DDN’s Patrick Noonan.
“We have worked collaboratively with the Carmody lawyers for many years and we believe that the quality, breadth and depth of their experience will allow us to provide even better service to our clients.”
The merger will be effective May 2.
