The state’s largest business organization and defend-id, Inc., a leader in identity theft protection, are partnering to provide identity theft protection and recovery solutions for small businesses and their employees.

The CBIA/defend-id partnership offers eligible employees identity monitoring and alerts, credit monitoring and alerts, fully managed identity recovery, and more.

The identity protection plans, provided as an employer-paid or employee-paid benefit, are available exclusively to members of CBIA’s Health Connections employee benefits program.

“Identity theft continues to expand at an exponential rate,” CBIA Service Corp. president Ken Comeau said today.

“This growing threat has resulted in an increased demand for quality identity monitoring and restoration services.

“We’re excited to partner with defend-id to add this valuable and affordable benefit to the CBIA Health Connections program.”

“We are very fortunate to have this opportunity to work with CBIA,” says defend-id CEO Brian Thompson.

“Their expertise in employee benefits solutions, high-quality products, and superior customer support are unparalleled in Connecticut.

“We couldn’t be happier to have CBIA as a partner.”

Identity theft protection is also a perfect first-line cybersecurity protection for employers.

If an employee’s identity is compromised while they’re using a company-owned device on the company’s network, a security hole opens and critical data suddenly becomes vulnerable, increasing the probability of a cyberattack.

Products in the CBIA Health Connections program are available to CBIA member companies and sold through insurance brokers and agents.
