Carmody Appoints Bumgarner CFO, COO

Michael Bumgarner has been named chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Carmody Torrance Sandak and Hennessey.

Bumgarner will lead the Connecticut law firm’s financial management, modernizing systems, leading strategic growth initiatives.

He will also spearhead the firm’s culture and talent strategies.

“Michael has a proven background in executive leadership,” said Carmody managing partner Fatima Lahnin.

“His experience in implementing strategic growth initiatives and leading high performing teams make him a great fit.”

Proven Leader

Bumgarner spent more than 20 years with West Virginia-based law firm Flaherty Sensabaugh Bonasso PLLC, where he served as chief operating officer and ultimately chief executive officer.

He is also a certified public accountant, certified legal manager, and a past president of the Association of Legal Administrators.

Carmody has been operating in Connecticut for more than 125 years.

The firm has 90 lawyers with offices in New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury, Guilford, New London, Southbury and Litchfield.
