Meeting the Challenge of Workforce Development in Construction

Contractors are facing a significant challenge in finding qualified, skilled and trained employees to work in construction.
The shortage of skilled workers has led to higher wages and bids, delayed projects and raised costs–for contractors and owners.
The Utility Contractors Association of Connecticut hopes to find solutions.
Join UCAC members, contractors, and suppliers on Wednesday, September 13 and hear from education professionals in the Connecticut Technical High School System who are working to address this challenge so contractors can recruit, hire, and retain qualified workers.

Learn how contractors can work with Career Technical Education facilities to find the right workers while reducing training and labor costs and what the industry can do to attract young adults to the construction trades.
