Connecticut can once again lay claim as home to the best Double-A ballpark in the country.

Dunkin’ Park, home of the Hartford Yard Goats, was this week named the winner of the 2025 Newsweek Fans’ Choice Awards contest for Best Double-A Ballpark.

Dunkin’ Park beat out minor league ballparks in Amarillo, TX, Columbus, GA, Manchester, NH and Reading, PA.

“Loads of events, from baseball card swaps and kickball tournaments, coupled with delicious local food (and doughnuts, of course), make this ballpark a grand slam for fans,” Newsweek noted about Dunkin’ Park.

The honor comes as the Yard Goats celebrate the team’s 10th anniversary season in Hartford.

‘The Best Everything’

“Thank you to all the fans who took the time to vote for our magnificent home for this prestigious award,” Yard Goats president Tim Restall said.

“We look forward to continuing to create a vibrant and enjoyable experience for our fans.”

This isn’t the first time the Yard Goats’ home park featured in the national spotlight.

Ballpark Digest previously recognized Dunkin’ Park as its Best Double-A Ballpark in 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022.

It was the first minor league ballpark to win the award three times.

Last year, Yard Goats general manager Mike Abramson told the CBIA BizCast about the team’s commitment to the fan experience.

“From the very beginning, the goal was to have the best ballpark, the best brand, the best staff, the best everything,” he said.

“I think the reason that we have been so successful is that we are relentlessly unsatisfied.”

Fan Experience

The Yard Goats play 69 home games at Dunkin’ Park each season, and many high school and college teams also play there.

But the ballpark is home to more than baseball.

The team also hosts events throughout the year from corporate events and parties, to graduations, and charity events.

“It belongs to residents of the city of Hartford.”

Throughout the year, The Yard Goats Charitable Foundation offers theater, culinary, and after-school programs for students from the Hartford area.

That includes the first-ever GOAT Tacos, Tequila & Taps Festival at Dunkin’ Park, Thursday, July 24th through Saturday July 26, benefiting Hartford’s Camp Courant and Hands on Hartford.

“This is a ballpark that’s built in the city of Hartford,” Abramson told the BizCast. “It belongs to residents of the city of Hartford.

“We feel a great responsibility to have it be a magical place for the people who live here because it’s theirs and they deserve it to be special.”
